Is the internship paid?
Yes! The suggested minimum pay rate is $10.00 per hour.

What are you seeking in interns?
All interns must be enrolled as undergraduates taking at least six (6) credit hours per semester and making demonstrated progress towards a STEM degree. Interns must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4-point scale, and must have sophomore status at the conclusion of the spring semester. Graduating seniors and recent graduates will also be considered. Due to the STEM-related nature of the program, all interns must be studying a major that falls within science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

I live in Virginia but I attend college/university in another state. Am I eligible to apply?
Yes. Virginia residents attending an accredited out-of-state college may apply.

I cannot find my major listed on the application. Does this mean I may not apply?

What happens if I don’t have all the requirements, such as transcripts, when I apply?
Students will need access to transcripts that you can upload, and email addresses of references who can offer recommendations on your behalf. If you do not have all the elements to submit a complete application, you may still proceed; however, you will receive an automated email each week reminding you that you need to complete the application. You cannot be considered for an internship without all of the required documents.  Note:  Your application will be approved while awaiting letters of recommendation as long as reference contact information is provided.

How long do I need to wait for a reply after I submit my application?
The Virginia Space Grant Consortium will screen the applications for completeness and compliance with CSIIP eligibility criteria. Once approved, applications will be available for companies to review.
